I'm a member of Shespeaks.com. As a member, I received 3 free issues of Taste at Home magazine. 3 issues of a magazine is not quite a good enough bribe to make me post about the magazine, if I really did NOT like it. I do!
I had not looked at the magazine in several years, but was pleasantly surprised to see that it is becoming more inclusive. I really like that.

They publish some of the best yearly recipe books there are, but I recommend the magazine personally. They really give me inspiration for the season at hand. If you have kids, it includes a great section on cooking with kids.

Anyway, the link about will give you a huge discount on a subscription - 10.00 a year. That's a good offer indeed!

As a homeschooling mom, I think it is very important that kids learn to cook. There's such a practical application of math to be used there. Fractions are in every recipe, and the measure of temperature and time. I find it is a very fun way to incorporate geography, and Alton Brown's GOOD EATS show is FULL of great science.

We have a Harry's Market/Whole Foods a short drive away. They offer field trips to small groups for homeschoolers. Our kids really enjoyed it. Food is such a large, vital part of any culture, isn't it?
