RANT INCOMING:

I wanted a cat. I've been wanting a cat. I've thought about it for the last several months. I thought to myself, why not contact the pound or pet finder to see if I could save a little stray that might get put down otherwise.

I did, and I found a beautiful cat on http://www.petfinder.org. It was with the Sterile Feral here in Rome, GA. I went to the website and filled out an application for the cat. I didn't like it very much, especially the part that wanted my personal information such as my name, address, phone number, work number, ect.

Why? The form was not encrypted. I do not *do*unencrypted forms.

I filled out the application and put my contact info so that they could contact me about the cat. I never heard a word. I called and left a message. Nothing. I then called the person listed as having found the cat. He was very nice. He gave me the number to Sterile Feral. I called and as soon as I gave my name to the lady she became very rude to me.

"Oh, YOU'RE Kristi. You're the one that didn't fill out an application. I don't know WHY people do that."

I explained that I'd put down my number so they could contact me. The form wasn't encrypted and I didn't want to put all my personal information in it. She had no idea what that meant.

Well, the lady took such a condescending tone with me that I ended up hanging up on her. I never do this. Most people will say that I am a patient, nice person. A few may find me difficult, in general a lot of people tell me that I am the most patient person they've known.

Anyway, I wasn't good enough to have a kitty from the Sterile Feral and it was a horrible experience to just try to get one of their abandoned animals. I'm not used to such conceited rudeness. I've not had my temper flare so hot in a while!

I'll find an unwanted kitten somewhere else.

At first I thought these folks had the welfare of animals in mind. It is a great idea to spay or neuter them before they are released, but I think now after my experience that they are more about self-righteousness and condescension than about anything else- including finding animals a good home.

This is the very reason why both socialism and communism exist-

Exploitation of the poor.
