I have both an osteochondral defect of the talus with a subchondral cyst, but I also have tarsal tunnel syndrome. The tarsal tunnel is caused by varicose veins in that ankle. The other ankle is fine.

My ankle is always worse at night, but sometimes it is worse during the day than even I realize. I come home and lay down thinking I am tired, but once I lie down I can tell that my foot is just nagging the heck out of me. Other times it hurts constantly and can be very sharp stabbing pain, waking both me and my husband up at night.

The insurance companies make you go through 6 months of hell before you can have surgery to fix it. I think they hope that maybe a few folks will die during that time or go in comas. Others might lose their job and their insurance. Still others might just get mad as heck, kill their doctor and everyone else that doesn't understand, and go to jail.

That way the insurance comapany won't have to pay for the surgery.

There's a ton of things I need to do at this point. I wish I could think so I could do some of it.

I wish Kerry was doing better. I'm afraid his campaign is not what's needed to go up against Rove/Bush/Cheney.
